The scientific benefits of vitamin D continue to come in. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide with 1.7 million new cases annually and approximately 1/2 million deaths due to breast cancer in 2012.

A meta-analysis of studies involving vitamin D levels and breast cancer survival was published this week demonstrating that women with higher serum vitamin D levels had lower mortality. We are not talking toxic or excessive levels of vitamin D but levels in the range of 30-80 ng/ml. 

This is clearly a no-brainer to me. Vitamin D is inexpensive, easy to take, has no side effects, no disadvantages, and clearly a lot to gain. As far as I'm concerned, it is a must for everyone. In Canada, I have yet to encounter ANYONE who has a normal vitamin D level without supplementing. It just does not happen. Make sure this is a part of your daily regimen. Your life could depend on it.
